Retail News: Trill Burger heads for the suburbs

A former Dairy Queen at 6810 Louetta is potentially set to become a Trill Burger location.

Construction permits filed with the state at the end of last week indicate that Houston-based Trill Burger may be expanding into more suburban digs. Co-founded by local rapper Bun B and restauranter Andy Nguyen, Trill Bruger initially debuted as a pop-up selling smash burgers in the summer of 2021. In the summer of 2023, the concept transitioned to a more permanent home in a former James Coney Island. However, from day one of operation there, the S. Shepherd and Richmond Ave location was considered a pop-up and not permanent. Property developer NewQuest announced via a press release that Trill Burger was coming to Missouri City via their new Fort Bend Town Center at Highway 6 and the Fort Bend Parkway. This press release was later redacted, with Trill Burger and NewQuest refusing to comment on a potential restaurant in that location. The building permits include a location in the aforementioned Fort Bend Town Center and a former Dairy Queen on Louetta. While nothing is concrete yet, it seems possible Trill Burger may soon expand. It remains yet to be discovered if these new locations will bring an end to the inner-loop location.
