The future Joe V’s parking lot will likely stir up memories of how busy Fry’s used to get on Black Friday, most weekends.Joe V’s Smart Shop will soon open a new location on Houston’s North side. The store wich will be located at 10241 North Fwy, Houston, TX 77037 has yet to receive an official grand opening date, but estimates from HEB put the store on a course to open mid-summer according to Chron.com, and it looks like they will soon accomplish their goal. Work began on the site last year, demolishing the former Fry’s electronics, and building a new structure for Joe V’s. Similar to other Joe V’s this new store will be coming in around 55k sqft, making it much smaller than the Fry’s Electronrics, and Builder’s Square structure which preceded it. HEB does appear to own the entire former Fry’s space, leaving room for potential future expansion, or additional retail space. The parking lot has also been reconfigured to better designate the spaces allotted for Joe V’s as traffic will likely be heavy. Another Joe V’s has been on the plans for years in East Aldine, and may still be built in the future.
