HHR has confirmed that Drury Hotels plans to close its final Houston area location in May 2026. The hotel chain once had five locations across the Houston area. The Energy Corridor location at I-10 and Highway 6 was sold to Best Western around 2020. Around the same time, the Hobby Airport Drury, located off Mosley near the Gulf Freeway, was sold to GreenTree Hotels, a Chinese company that has since passed the location to another chain. In late 2024, Drury sold two more properties, one in The Woodlands and the other in Sugar Land, to a local operator who rebranded them as Heritage Inn & Suites. The final Drury Inn & Suites located in the Galleria area is expected to close on May 5th, 2026. It’s not yet clear what plans are for the property; however, since the neighboring La Quinta was recently demolished for a new retail project, this may be the end of the site as a hotel. Special thanks to Jason McMillan, who learned of this impending closing, reached out to Drury, and informed HHR.

Odd. They opened a hotel in College Station just last year–the press release states it was their 18th hotel in the state.

With them exiting Houston, it would appear that it leaves just 10, a sharp decline from a year ago (five in San Antonio, three in Dallas, one each in Austin and College Station).
