Retail News: Salad and Go to close in Houston by Friday

By this time next week, Salad and Go will be Salad and Gone from Houston!

Update 12:30 PM 9/17: A representative of Salad and Go reached out to me and provided me with the following information. “….41 [Salad and Go] locations are closing across Texas and Oklahoma. The closures include all locations in Houston, Austin, and San Antonio, and a handful of stores in the Dallas metro area and Oklahoma.

Salad and Go will permanently close its Houston locations on Friday, September 19th, according to employees of the chain. I was first made aware of online reports of the closings early yesterday, and confirmed the rumours with a visit to Salad and Go, where employees confirmed Friday was their final operating day here. Arizona-based Salad and Go arrived in Texas in 2021 and expanded to Houston the following year. The company expanded to around 60 locations operating across Texas, with multiple under construction, in late 2024, when they suddenly stopped their expansion. The company closed its single inner-loop location in July, which has since started conversion to a Dutch Bros. coffee location, along with an unopened Salad and Go in Baytown. Salad and Go also closed its Sugar Land location earlier this year. Multiple other locations stand in various states of readiness, like the Tomball store, which is essentially complete but will now never open. According to the employee, the locations across Texas outside of the DFW area are all expected to close.
