According to reader reports (thanks, Jake!), local grocer Harvest Market is now down to one location from a peak of four. Reports are that the Sienna Plantation location shut its doors about a week ago. Harvest Market has been shrouded in mystery since its debut in 2015. The concept was to combine a full-service restaurant with a grocery store. Harvest Market achieved this by creating a dedicated food court space in its grocery stores. The chain also had a “mobile store” via the Harvest Trolley. The first cracks at HM seemed to develop around the pandemic, and have only been accelerating recently. Their Spring and Katy locations have been sold to Mi Querencia, who subdivided the space. An unidentified operator, which is likely Harvest Market, continues to run the food court sides of the stores. It’s unclear if a similar plan exists for the Sienna store. The final Harvest Market location in the Woodforest area of Montgomery still appears to be in business.
