Kroger will soon close its location at 13133 Veterans Memorial Dr, Houston, TX 77014, near Bammel North Houston Road. This store opened in 1981 and was featured in a post here in HHR back in 2023. According to reports online, November 8th will be the final day for this location. Kroger has closed four stores in the Houston area so far this year. Starting with a location in The Woodlands, followed by one in Dickinson, and more recently two in West Houston, which closed for good last month. These cuts are part of a larger restructuring that aims to close 60 locations before the end of 2026. While about 40 of the closing locations had been identified by August, the future of some Houston locations remains unknown. The rumor mill has it out that additional Kroger locations in Houston will be targeted for closure in the near future. While the rumors are inconsistent about location, one constant is that these are older locations, a characteristic that has mostly been true for these closings.
